I have had a terrible time getting my coolant crossover tube plugs out for both my 96 Cobra and the new Teksid Terminator motor. I broke a 1/4" Craftsman breaker bar on the one in my 96 Cobra, and I rounded off the square hole in the used one I bought for my 03 Cobra motor. I finally got them off by using a big pair of vice grips on them, but they chewed up the sides of the plugs in the process:


I found a replacement plug available on the internet, so I bought two of them, one for each engine. They are available either solid or drilled and tapped for an Autometer temeperature sender. I bought two of the drilled and tapped units so I can add the sender later if I choose to. I bought two 1/8" NPT allen plugs from Royal Brass to plug the sender holes, and used Teflon tape to get them into the plug good and tight. Here is the new plug and the small brass plug:
