Here are the exterior projects for my 96 Cobra.

1/18/12: Rear License Plate Light Project:

While washing my car, I noticed that the rear license plate light bulb fixtures were in bad shape.  One was cracked and the other was completely broken out:

I found some replacement units in the junkyard, but I noticed that they were all cracked too.  I came to the conclusion that the incandescent bulbs in these fixtures get too hot, causing them to crack.  So I decided to replace the fixtures with new ones and replace the incandescent bulbs with super bright, wide angle white LEDs.  It turns out Ford changed the design of the license plate light fixtures, too.  Here is a comparison of the old ad new bulbs and fixtures: (The outer ones are new and the inner ones are old.)
