Due to a myriad of requests for information about
the TAC process, here is my short course on the necessary steps.
1) The owner must initiate the process by asking for an inspection.
That can be done in several ways, but
the easiest is to follow this link, then locate
and contact the Senior Inspector closest to you.
2) It takes 3 inspectors (one of whom must be a Senior) to
complete the verification and there is some
paperwork involved, including signing a liability release before
the inspection begins.
3) Since the program relies on volunteers, it's not likely you'll find inspection
teams turning up in out-of-the-way
places. The key is being willing to get your car (running, or not) to one
of the many Tiger events
held around the country every year. In some cases TAC sessions are being
arranged and publicized
on the free Internet Tiger mailing list.

4) If you're not already a member, consider joining one or more of the major owners
associations. All of
them try
to field inspection teams at their regular marque functions.
