In case you missed the "wave-off" elsewhere, a car currently being advertised (7/06) on the Hemmings Motor News website is not a "factory" built Sunbeam Tiger. I attempted to get the principals to assist, but their response was typical and very disappointing: |
|
Dear Mr. Miller, Hemmings is strictly a publication. We publish advertisements listing parts, vehicles and services for the hobby, as well as a number of other publications with articles on vehicles. We do not sell or provide parts, vehicles or services. Per HMN advertising terms & conditions (see pg 114 of the August, '06 issue or http://www.hemmings.com/aboutus/terms.html, "every advertisement that is accepted is published on the representation of the advertiser". If you feel there is a discrepancy in the Sunbeam ad, you may wish to contact the advertiser (at 250/878-6980 ahuber@hmaa.net) for clarification. Regards, Mary Brott |
Apparently my admonishment to "hound the bejeezes out of
them" has paid off.
When I last checked (8/30/06), the listing had been adjusted to include the
phrase "Alpine Conversion".
