It
I bought the Tiger restored from a gentleman
that owned and restored it for 12 yrs. I purchased it
in January of 2003. When I purchased the
car I decided to pull out the original 260, Top
Loader and Dana rear end (260 and Dana go with
the car). I had K&S Performance engines
build a 1992 Ford 5.0 litre
with 9.5 compression, Competition Cam hydraulic
roller cam and valve train including 6 to 1, SS
roller rockers, Edelbrock aluminum heads, 8
quart Milodon oil pan, original cobra intake
manifold, ceramic Tiger headers, MSD
distributor, Edelbrock water pump, 570cfm Holley
carb and a K&N top and side flow air filter.
The motor is feed by an electric fuel pump.
The engine builder tells me we
have a true 345hp motor.
The radiator is a
Griffin
aluminum with twin Flexilite fans. The motor
runs cool and like a clock. The engine
compartment has been smoothed out with
electronics hidden for a clean for a clean
look.
The
transmission is a Tremec T5 with a billet short
shift 5 spd white knob and set up for plug-in
cruise control. The rear end is a shortened posi
8.8” mustang with 308’s.
Clutch, pressure plate and
throw-out are all CentreForce.
The brakes are 4 wheel discs, on
the front are 93 Mustang and the rears are 95
Mustang, all new brake lines, Willwood pedals
and Tilton brake cylinders, separate front and
rear brakes cylinders. This car stops! The
interior is brand new; all parts are from
Sunbeam Specialties with a chrome roll bar.
Chrome, moldings,
trim pieces are all new.
The wheels are 16x7 Panasports
with 205/50/16 Bridgestone rubber.
A relocated custom
panhard rod keeps everything rock solid. Rear
springs have been re-arched with extra main leaf
and a 5/8” sway bar. Rear track widened 1” with
1/2” removable spacers on hubs. Custom exhaust
with 2 1/2” pipes with 18” MagnaFlow Stainless
tips. The front suspension has been completely
redone, lowered front coils, steering rack, ball
joints and all bushings. Rear sway bar, panhard
rod and rear springs and bushings are all
completely redone with new bushings. Shocks at
all four corners have been replaced and
upgraded.
The
interior is new with Le Carra leather steering
wheel, the dash is done in “Maple Tigress wood”
and clear coated for durability and I have the
wood piece for glove box door that matches the
grains in the dash exactly. The wiring is
completely redone with a new 12 circuit Painless
wiring setup. Gauges are a custom order from
AutoMeter, Sport Comp’s with chrome bezels to
keep the authentic look.
Original seats redone with
Rootes/Chyrsler, 3 point seatbelts and buckles.
Chrome roll bar. New upholstered door panels,
kick panels, rear area panels, new soft top. The
trans tunnel and floors have been insulated with
heat reflecting and sound deadening material. A
perfect hard top with head liner is also
included. The windshield wipers work perfect
with a rebuilt motor. The heater motor is
rebuilt and works perfectly; heating ducts are
not hooked up.
Windshield is perfect but the car
comes with an additional brand new windshield
still in shipping
crate.
The
body has 6 yr old paint and has two very minor
chips and one scratch, there is zero rust. The
body was professionally stripped by the previous
owner and the under carriage was coated for a
permanent finish. I would touch up the chips and
wet sand the car you would have an impeccable
piece.
